Bowen Therapy in WhitstableIntroducing Bowen
Bowen Therapy is a fascial release technique. It is gentle and non-invasive. Bowen is suitable for babies, adults and children. Rolling type moves are made with thumb and fingertips on precise points, enabling the body to re-balance and restore function. Developed by Tom Bowen in Australia in the 1950s, Bowen Therapy has grown from strength to strength since arriving in Europe in the early 1990s.

What to expect from Bowen treatment
The experience of Bowen is gentle, subtle and relaxing; this is what makes Bowen Therapy unique. There are no manipulations, needling or adjustments. Treatment is given over light clothing.

Treatment is carried out at a relaxed, focused pace with some 2 minute pauses, allowing the nervous system to absorb the work, before new moves are made. Four (4) treatments are usually enough to resolve common issues. Chronic conditions may take longer, depending on the individual case history. Top-up treatments are advised for performance maintenance & to manage a work-life balance.

Bowen has been observed to help with:
Sports injuries, back pain (chronic and acute), sciatica, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, jaw discomfort, heel and foot pain, fibromyalgia, JHS (joint hyper-mobility syndrome), chronic fatigue as well as general aches, stiffness and pain management. Whiplash, migraines, headaches, asthma, hay-fever, allergies, sinus, stress and tension. Menstrual and hormone issues, fertility, pregnancy, baby colic, digestive and sleep issues and bed-wetting.

Additional benefits include:
Improved quality of sleep, mood elevation, increased energy, increased ability to concentrate and focus, general relaxation and a more positive outlook.

Sports
A growing number of professional sports people are discovering that regular Bowen work enhances performance and reduces the incidence of injury. In addition, when injury does occur, especially soft tissue damage, Bowen brings rapid relief and a quick return to their sport.

Selina Firth
I have successfully treated a wide range of people and presentations, since qualifying in 2011. I would say, the holistic benefits of Bowen are possibly as limitless as the individuals that come in for treatment.

Over the course of treatment, as the body regains strength and momentum; this is reflected in the return to function, balance and renewed sense of connection throughout the bodily systems. Please Note that each case is unique and outcomes can never be "presumed".

Please Note: If you have concerns about your health condition we advise you to always speak to your GP first. Do tell them you are considering Bowen treatment, as most GPs know about Bowen.
