What is Clinical Psychology?
Clinical Psychologists work with people with a range of psychological difficulties including depression, anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, stress, post natal depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. If you are experiencing emotional problems you may benefit from seeing a Clinical Psychologist. Therapy can help you gain an understanding of the underlying causes of your difficulties, look at what is maintaining or increasing the problem and explore changes that you can make in order to break unhelpful and distressing cycles of thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
The aim of Clinical Psychology is to enable individuals to cope with difficult circumstances, reach their potential and live fulfilling lives. Assessment and treatment is available to adults and older children, using a collaborative and problem-solving approach. This is achieved through regular one-to-one sessions using evidence based assessment and therapy interventions.
